Charles W. Pascal, D.D.S.
A native of Southern California, Dr. Pascal has had a private practice of General and Advanced Restorative Dentistry for over 25 years in San Mateo. Following graduation from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, he served 2 years in the United States Naval Reserve Dental Corps. Dr. Pascal received advanced certification in aesthetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitative dentistry and occlusion, temporo-mandibular disease (TMJ), prosthetics, endodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics.
A staunch advocate of postgraduate education, he maintains membership in the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Mateo County Dental Society, and the Laguna Beach Gnathological Study Club. Appointed as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California San Francisco, he taught at the School of Dentistry for over 10 years. He is presently involved in the new field of Evidence-Based Dentistry and the review of research into its application in the clinical practice.
Dr. Pascal published over 300 articles in the San Mateo Times “Dental Digest” newspaper column covering all aspects of dentistry. He has carried his love of writing over to his practice and presently produces the “Pascalgram,” an informative and often humorous monthly newsletter about dentistry, himself, his family, and his dog Norman.
Dr. Pascal was involved in the original research and grant from the National Institute of Health with the University of California on the effects of smokeless tobacco on baseball players. He was instrumental in developing the nationwide protocol for annual oral examinations for all professional baseball players. Further, he was the team dentist for the San Francisco Giants for 21 years.
Dr. Pascal has been an active member of local service clubs for over 30 years. He served as President of the Burlingame Lions Club and is presently a member of the San Mateo Rotary Club.
Dr. Pascal and his wife Beth have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
Dr. Pascal has always been interested in scale models of aircraft and ships. He is completing a large-scale airplane to be given to the Hiller Aviation Museum in Belmont when completed. He is also working on a 15th century English fighting ship of the line, “Sovereign of the Seas.” However the hobby dejour is sculpting statues in a bronze medium. He has completed a chess set with 8 individual sculptures in bronze and silver to the Historic Battle of Agincourt in 1415, 12" Statue of Don Quoite "Without Question or Pause" and a statue called " My mother's hand." Presently he is working on the 3rd of his larger sculptures " Welcome Home."
